Terms of Use

Last updated: March 7, 2026

Agreement to terms

By accessing or using Clario ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Description of service

Clario provides tools for comparing college financial aid offers, estimating net cost and debt, and organizing college-related documents and information. The Service is for planning and informational purposes only. It does not replace official financial aid letters, institutional communications, or advice from your school or financial aid office.

Eligibility and account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service, or use it with parental or guardian consent. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not: use the Service in any way that violates laws or third-party rights; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other accounts; transmit malware or harmful code; scrape or automate access in ways we do not permit; or use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.

No professional advice

Clario does not provide financial, legal, or admissions advice. All content and tools are for general informational and planning purposes. You should verify all figures and decisions with your college, financial aid office, and qualified advisors. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on use of the Service.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by Clario or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission, except as necessary to use the Service as intended.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clario and its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases; provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Clario operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where prohibited.
