Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about Clario, accounts, verification, and comparing financial aid. Can’t find what you need? Contact us.
- What is Clario?
- Clario is a college financial aid comparison and planning tool. It helps students and families compare aid offers from different schools side by side, see true out-of-pocket cost and projected debt, and organize documents—so you can make informed decisions instead of guessing.
- Is Clario free?
- Yes. You can create a free account, add your financial aid offers, and use the comparison tools at no cost. We don’t require a credit card. We’re built to help every family get clarity, not only those who can afford paid advisors.
- How do I create an account?
- Click Register and enter your name, email, and a password. We’ll send a 6-digit verification code to your email; enter it to verify and complete signup. Your account is then ready and you can start adding aid offers and using your workspace.
- I didn’t get the verification code. What should I do?
- Check your spam or promotions folder. Codes expire after 10 minutes—if it’s expired, go back to the signup form and click “Send verification code” again to get a new one. If you still have trouble, contact us at support@clario.com.
- Where is my data stored?
- Account and aid data are stored in your browser (localStorage) for this version of Clario. We don’t sell your information. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.
- How do I compare financial aid offers?
- After signing in, go to Aid comparison and add each college’s aid letter details (cost of attendance, grants, loans, work-study, etc.). Clario will show net price, gift aid, and projected debt side by side so you can compare schools fairly.
- Can counselors use Clario with their students?
- Yes. Counselors can share Clario with students; students create their own accounts and add offers. The comparison view is designed for advisor–student–family conversations. For bulk use or partnerships, see our For counselors page or email counselors@clario.com.
- Is Clario a substitute for my financial aid office?
- No. Clario is a planning and comparison tool only. Always confirm amounts, deadlines, and policies with each college and your financial aid office before making final decisions.
- How do I sign out or delete my account?
- Use “Sign out” in the header to log out. Because data is stored locally in your browser, clearing your browser data for this site will remove your account and stored information. For help, contact support@clario.com.
